Leaf Collection 2009
City Art Squad Group Exhibition Oct 2009
Dawn Freeborn's Previous work has mostly had an affinity to the Natural environment and it's relationship with people and objects. Her work aims to evoke personal and emotionally charged concepts such as memory, time, life and death through textiles and photography.
Here we see the Artist responding to the contrasting change in location from the north west coast to Dublin city centre. These works illustrate a new approach in which she develops her practice by exploring and playing with the relationship between the natural and urban environment, seeking to find her own aesthetic in the nooks and crannys of the city highlighting the beauty of the ephemeral minutia of a constantly transient environment.
